Learning Theory Assignment (due 7/21)

Goals:
- investigate discuss and present learning theories
- develop experience using online collaborative technologies
- develop experience presenting material over a distance

Theories to choose from (or get a different one pre-approved):

Assignment
- Research your assigned theory.
- You should use at least 3 different sources for your work.
- Construct the details of your “presentation”.
- Your blog post should provide information on the following components:

  • Introduce and describe the theorists' contributions to the field
  • Describe at least 3 main characteristics of the theory
  • Explain the strengths and weaknesses of the theory
  • Explain how the theory is associated with either direct instruction or constructivism
  • Provide at least one example of how technology can be integrated into classroom instruction that uses your learning theory.
  • Consider the following:What would this classroom look like? What would the instruction look like? Include the targeted grade level. What are the goals for instruction? What would the technology integration look like?
  • Writing should be clear, well organized and contain no grammar or spelling errors
  • Project should take advantage of the available blog features including links to outside websites and images
  • Collaboration should be made evident. Use the group discussion area on Blackboard to discuss your work. If you send emails or make phone calls, please post notes of the interaction to the discussion board.
